When Do You Want To Go?
This 11-day adventure begins in Sydney, where a guided tour of Sydney Opera House, a harbour cruise and a full day tour to the impressive Blue Mountains provide just a glimpse of Sydney’s highlights. Head out of the city towards the 26 golden beaches of Port Stephens, take a stroll in the beautiful botanic gardens at Coffs Harbour and explore the natural wonders surrounding Byron Bay. Stop for lunch at the surf club overlooking Coolangatta Beach before arriving in Brisbane, where a city tour uncovers the highlights and an immersive Aboriginal dinner show is the perfect end to this Australian journey.
Day 1 - 3: Sydney & The Blue Mountains
Arrive in Sydney and check into your hotel to relax. The following day enjoy a morning sightseeing cruise to take in the iconic sights of Sydney Harbour before an afternoon tour of the magnificent Opera House. The next day brings a full day tour to the Blue Mountains, where stunning views of the famous Three Sisters can be appreciated from remote lookout points. Enjoy lunch at Blackheath and then a glass of sparkling wine at the delightful Mt Tomah Botanic Garden with sweeping views of Sydney, before heading back into the city.
Day 4: Port Stephens
After collecting your rental car, cross the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge on the way out of Sydney towards Port Stephens, an idyllic beach getaway with a vast bay and many inlets. Home to around 150 bottlenose dolphins, Port Stephens is a great place to enjoy a kayak tour or a dolphin-watching cruise, or perhaps simply enjoy the freshly caught seafood and local wineries around Nelson Bay.
Day 5: Coffs Harbour
A popular year-round destination, Coffs Harbour features dense rainforest, golden beaches, mountains and a promenade with speciality shops and restaurants. The Botanic Gardens with Mangrove boardwalk is worth a visit and the local arts, crafts and antique shops are a pleasure to stroll around.
Day 6 & 7: Byron Bay
Continue North on the Pacific Highway, the legendary Pacific Coast Drive lined with beaches and spectacular coastal views. Continue through the National Trust river port township of Ulmarra on the Clarence River. The relaxed town of Yamba is a great place to stop, offering cafes, restaurants and a heritage walk to Yamba Lighthouse, or perhaps Ballina’s beaches and historic riverfront trail will appeal. Arrive in Byron Bay in the late afternoon and enjoy the following day exploring the towns surf culture and natural wonders.
Day 8 - 10: Brisbane
Continue north towards Tweed Heads, the last town in New South Wales before crossing into Queensland. Take a break at the seaside village Coolangatta, the gateway to the Gold Coast and enjoy lunch at the surf club overlooking Coolangatta Beach. Arrive in the sub-tropical metropolis of Brisbane in the afternoon and check into your hotel for the final three nights. The following day, a morning walking tour of the city is a great way to familiarise yourself with its highlights and an evening theatre show is an immersive experience of Aboriginal culture.
