Day-by-Day

Days 1 & 2: Vancouver

Arrive in Vancouver and transfer to your downtown hotel, from which the next two days can be spent exploring one of Canada’s most popular cities and it’s easy to see why, with its explorable neighbourhoods, an exciting culinary scene, endless selection of activities and striking natural vistas. 

Day 3: Rocky Mountaineer Train to Kamploops

Begin this exciting day by boarding the Rocky Mountaineer train in downtown Vancouver, in your GoldLeaf carriage with full use of the Dome sky windows and outdoor viewing platform. Marvel at the spectacular scenery as the train travels through the Fraser River Valley and the towering peaks of the Coastal Mountains towards Fraser Canyon. Following the Thompson River through beautiful landscapes to Kamloops, where you’ll be transferred to your hotel for the night.

Day 4: Rocky Mountaineer Train to Jasper

Back onboard the Rocky Mountaineer, breakfast is served as the train continues to follow the Thompson River to the snowy peaks of the Monashee Mountains. See Pyramid Falls and the expansive glaciers of the Albreda Icefields and pass the Rockies highest peak, Mount Robson. On arrival in Jasper, collect your rental car and head to your hotel.

Day 5: Jasper

A full day in Jasper to explore the town and surrounding area, with your choice of excursion; Perhaps see the magnificent shoreline and Spirit Island on a cruise of Maligne Lake, enjoy a gentle rafting tour on the Athabasca River in Jasper National Park or a guided nature walk in the surrounding forests, rolling hills and glacial lakes.

Day 6: Lake Louise

Travel through the heart of the Canadian Rockies along the amazing Icefields Parkway, where the ultimate glacier exploration awaits. Stand on the Glacier Skywalk, almost one thousand feet in the air, to appreciate this incredible natural treasure. Continue on your journey to arrive in Lake Louise in the afternoon.

Day 7 & 8: Banff

Take the scenic Bow Valley Parkway route with a recommended stop at Johnston Canyon, where a path leads to impressive waterfalls. Arrive in Banff and begin exploring this popular spot, with a final full day excursion included. Choose between the Banff Gondola for impressive views of the National Park, a cruise on turquoise hued Lake Minnewanka, a canoe tour on the serene Bow River or a horseback adventure through the landscape of Banff National Park.

Day 9: Departure

Check-out of your hotel and drive to the car drop point at the airport, ahead of the flight back to the UK.
