Introduction

Combine a tour of the delightful cultural highlights of Vietnam with a three night stay in Cambodia. This 14-day comprehensive journey is designed to showcase the beauty of both countries but also to leave a poignant impression of both the modern and historic elements that have helped to shape each nation. Tour the ancient capital of Hanoi, spend the night on board a traditional junk boat, discover the wonders of Hoi An and the underground network of the Cu Chi Tunnels, and discover what life is like for the communities who thrive along the Mekong Delta. 
A short flight to Siem Reap starts the Cambodian part of this journey, with a tour of the temples of Angkor, including the Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm and of course Angkor Wat. 

Day-by-Day

Day 1 & 2: Hanoi, Vietnam

Begin your adventure in Hanoi, Vietnam’s eclectic capital. A guided tour is included on your second day where a stroll through the Old Quarter will provide the perfect insight into the character and history of the city. Also included on the tour are visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, and the surroundings of the Sword Lake. 

Day 3: Lan Ha Bay, Vietnam

Whilst the masses head to Ha Long Bay, today you will be boarding a traditional junk boat in Lan Ha Bay, every bit as beautiful as its counterpart but with the immeasurable benefit of being far less crowded. Cruise around the spectacular landscapes, enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine and spend the night onboard the junk boat.

Day 4 - 6: Hoi An, Vietnam

After a leisurely morning, disembark in Lan Ha Bay and continue to Hoi An, an atmospheric town which has changed very little in centuries. Fill your time in Hoi An cycling in the countryside amongst the rural villages and paddy fields; discovering the way of life along the Thu Bon River and learning about the intricacies of Vietnamese cuisine on an immersive culinary demonstration. 

Day 7 & 8: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Spend your final days in Vietnam immersed amongst the flurry of activity that surrounds the Mekong Delta. Explore Ben Tre, known locally as the “Green Venice” of Vietnam due to its extensive network of canals; observe the trade activities of the floating market at Cai Rang and visit some of the surrounding villages by bicycle. Can Tho, where you will stay for the two nights, also has a myriad of historic sites that can be explored on a guided tour.  

Day 9 & 10: Can Tho, Vietnam

Spend your final days in Vietnam immersed amongst the flurry of activity that surrounds the Mekong Delta. Explore Ben Tre, known locally as the “Green Venice” of Vietnam due to its extensive network of canals; observe the trade activities of the floating market at Cai Rang and visit some of the surrounding villages by bicycle then discover Can Tho’s famous temples and pagodas. 

Day 11 - 14: Siem Reap, Cambodia

Cross the border into Cambodia where three nights will be spent in Siem Reap, the gateway of the extravagant Angkor Wat temple complex. A full guided day will be spent at the incredible site but time will also be afforded to help you discover the way of life of modern Cambodia. Taste the undervalued delights of Cambodian cuisine on a culinary demonstration; visit NGO initiatives that continue to tackle the atrocities still felt from the Khmer Rouge era and spend the evening at the circus!
